GICLM graduates are frequently accepted into leading universities globally, ranging from India to the United States, from the United Kingdom to Europe and from Canada to Australia and Hong Kong. We are very proud of the leading destinations that our students gain acceptance into and the very high level of scholarships received (In 2025 this reached c.100 crore). Most of our graduates complete their degree in the top 10% of their university and continue to Masters and Doctoral study.

At GICLM we enjoy a very successful record of university entrances for our graduates to their ‘first choice’ institution (please access the university lists below). This is a result of a careful matching of student potential and academic achievement, to the needs and requirements of the university. Through our constant rapport building with university representatives and care given to applications and representations, GICLM has acquired an outstanding reputation on the circuit, with the knowledge that we represent our students truthfully and fairly. Consequently, our graduates enjoy a positive experience with universities.

We support students in multiple applications to wherever they and their parents have an ambition to enter. We do not stop students from applying to top institutions nor limit the number of applications that we send from GICLM. If the student has the potential, then we will support them and open the doors to many institutions. Most students enter their final exams with a range of potential.

At the time of results, our counsellor and school heads also run a service at school to evaluate results and university placements. Through our personal contacts we can help advance final places.

With personalized mentoring at every stage—from shortlisting universities to crafting applications, preparing for interviews and securing scholarships—our students are empowered to reach their dream institutions across the globe. Many of our graduates have earned prestigious scholarships and admissions into some of the world’s finest universities, a testament to the school’s commitment to shaping successful global citizens.

In 2025, we were proud that our students were awarded 97 crores in scholarships.

College Counselling

It is our philosophy that we should prepare and support students and families at all stages of their application and entry into university. We employ our own full time highly experienced and trained University Guidance Counsellor, who draws upon the extensive experience and skills of GICLM leaders who are experts in the university applications. The Head of School has worked for over 30 years in this field and has links with top universities like MIT, Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge, being successful in sending students to these institutions. He runs an advanced course in Grade 12, for all students who intend to apply to universities at this level, like the Ivy League in USA. The Secondary Head, likewise has personal connections with top Indian destinations.

The strength of our University Counselling programme is built around a dedicated and well-planned lessons as part of the regular curriculum, in both careers and university applications. This takes place every week in our Personal, Social, Health and Careers Education (PSHCE) lessons from grades 6 to 12. The school counsellor runs special sessions about applications to all major countries and destinations like India, USA, UK, Europe, Canada and Australia over a number of months, being careful to update with all the latest information and advice from a quickly changing area of expertise. Specialist sessions are run on, for example, ‘How to complete an application form professionally’, ‘How to write a US college essay’, ‘How to build a personal profile for university entrance’, ‘Technology, STEM and Engineering’, ‘Computing and Data Analytics’, ‘Creative Arts and Social Sciences’, ‘Medicine and research in science’ and so on. There are discrete sessions on ‘How to obtain scholarships’ also.A highlight of the year is always our annual Universities Fair which attracts nearly 200 universities from around the world and from India into school for a day. Students and parents have a dedicated opportunity to talk to university representatives and secure a link. Many other universities visit throughout the year to meet our students and establish personal connections.

From Grade 9 onwards, every family will have an increasing number of ‘family interviews’ with the counsellor to plan carefully the pathway for all students to their dream and potential university destinations. Students also have individual session with the Counsellor, and can drop in to ask questions at a scheduled time. We also employ specialist agencies like Red Pen, if required, to give to updates and training about universities. We supply positive references for all students, that have become exemplars for good practice outside of GICLM. Our counsellor attends all key conferences and university sessions both inside India and overseas. A personal rapport has been built with many leading institutions, including the signing of MOU’s as appropriate.
