Parent Teacher Association

The positive relationship with our parental body is a crucial reason why GICLM continues to progress and develop. We welcome and work constructively with the PTA on a regular basis. Each grade elects a representative in July during our Parents Induction Meetings, and they serve for the ensuing academic year. Parents act as a vital communication bridge between school and home. They ensure that vital and regular school messages are shared and appreciated, whilst also acting as a voice for the parents in their group. Parents undergo a training session to appreciate how to fulfil their role effectively.

At GICLM there are regular coffee mornings with the Head of Schools where any issues are also discussed and solved together. We run a series of Parent Workshops throughout the year on educational topics that enhance parental understanding and awareness. These might be about general topics like: Cyber Security and AI, How parents can support their children, Appreciation of students emotional requirements, the essentials of parenting during EY and Primary Years, and also be focused on specific curriculum topics like: What is an IB education, How to Choose IGCSE options, Maths, English and Science learning across the school, and academic honesty.
