Learning Beyond the Classroom

At Garodia International Centre for Learning Mumbai, we believe that the most powerful learning experiences often happen beyond classroom walls. Our comprehensive school trips programme provides students with opportunities to explore the world, apply learning in real contexts, and develop global citizenship, confidence, and independence.

Students participate in thoughtfully curated experiences ranging from:

  • One-day excursions linked to academic units—heritage walks, museum visits, nature explorations, science centres, and industrial tours.
  • National travel experiences that help learners discover India’s cultural, ecological, and historical richness.

Over the years, our students have journeyed to inspiring locations including:

  • Kaziranga National Park
  • Meghalaya and Shillong
  • Ranthambore
  • Jaipur
  • Ooty
  • Kerala
  • Kodaikanal
  • Gujarat

These experiences build resilience, social skills, environmental awareness, and meaningful appreciation of diversity.

Excursions in EY and Primary

Every trip, exchange, or internship at GICLM is guided by strong safety protocols, skilled supervision, and educational intent. Whether exploring wildlife, studying culture, presenting research, or working in an organisation, students grow as independent thinkers and empathetic global citizens.

Travel and experiential learning at GICLM are not just add-ons—they are integral to who we are as a school: a place where learning moves beyond textbooks to shape confident, aware, and socially responsible young people ready to engage with the world.

As part of the curriculum, ‘learning beyond the borders of the classroom’ takes place with one-day visits to significant places connected to the curriculum such as fire stations, bakeries, post offices, supermarkets, and cultural locations like temples.

In Primary, we undertake field trips linked to the IPC curriculum—such as aquariums, libraries, planetariums, zoos, and Indian cultural centres like handicraft and carpentry workshops. Students also participate in 1- or 2-day overnight excursions to understand village life and engage in outdoor education activities like zip-lining and climbing.

A highlight is the whole-school picnic, which takes everyone out together as a community.
