Through wellness teams, student parliament, leadership roles, and peer buddy mentoring, GICLM empowers students to take ownership of their school community. These opportunities cultivate initiative, decision-making, and accountability, ensuring that students graduate as leaders ready to make meaningful contributions to society.

At GICLM, we strongly believe in empowering our students by giving them a platform to voice their opinions, share their ideas, and actively contribute to the growth of the school community.

One of the key ways we achieve this is through our Student Parliament, which represents the collective voice of the student body. The Student Parliament is composed of class representatives elected democratically by their peers at the beginning of each academic year, from Grade 1 through Grade 12.

In addition, Sports and House Captains—who play an important role in fostering teamwork and school spirit—are selected through a rigorous process. Students who express interest undergo an interview with senior members of staff, ensuring that only the most committed and capable candidates are chosen to take on these leadership responsibilities.

Parliament sessions are held every Wednesday during the snack break. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity for student leaders to:

• Raise and address concerns or issues faced by their classmates.
• Propose and discuss practical solutions in a collaborative manner.
• Initiate and present new ideas that enhance class spirit, house pride, and overall student well-being.

Through this platform, students not only develop leadership and problem-solving skills but also experience the importance of democracy, teamwork, and responsibility. The Student Parliament plays a pivotal role in shaping a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels a sense of belonging and pride in their school community.
