Welcome to Secondary School (Grades 6–10)

A Vibrant Journey of Growth, Inquiry & Global Citizenship

At Garodia International Centre for Learning Mumbai, our Secondary School is a dynamic and future-focused learning environment where young people grow into confident thinkers, compassionate leaders, and responsible global citizens.

This stage of education marks an exciting transition — students move from foundational learning to deeper exploration, independent inquiry, research, and self-discovery. Through a rigorous academic framework, meaningful co-curricular experiences, and strong pastoral guidance, we nurture every learner’s intellectual, social, emotional, and ethical development.

Our students engage with a curriculum that:

  • encourages curiosity and critical thinking
  • balances challenge with support
  • integrates creativity, collaboration, and communication
  • promotes reflection and wellbeing
  • builds real-world readiness for higher education and beyond

Learning at GICLM extends beyond classrooms. Whether through leadership programmes, Model UN, sports, community service, arts, entrepreneurship, or international exposure — students discover their voice, develop resilience, and cultivate empathy.

Parents are valued partners in this journey, and together we create an environment where every child feels safe, seen, and celebrated. Our educators are dedicated mentors who personalise learning, inspire excellence, and model the values we expect our students to embody.

As Head of Secondary, I warmly invite you to explore our vibrant learning community — a place where aspirations are nurtured, curiosity is fuelled, and young minds are prepared to shape a better world.

Welcome to GICLM Secondary School — where every learner is empowered to imagine, discover, and achieve their fullest potential.

Middle Years Grades 6-8

The curriculum is specially designed for the unique learning needs of students aged 11-14 (Grades 6-8) at the time when they need to develop excellent learning skills and habits, whilst developing self-confidence and a thorough understanding of their academic subjects. This is called a ‘student centred approach’ that builds on traditional learning approaches in the classroom and combines it with the latest educational practices that high-quality students are known to exhibit. Students will see the connections between academic disciplines. Students study a wide range of subjects (History, Geography, PE, Design, Computers, Art) with an emphasis on the core subjects of Maths, Languages and Science. There will be community Service-Learning opportunities included. At the end of Grade 8 students will opt for their specific IGCSE subjects, which will be examined at the end of Grade 10. Likewise, all students will have the opportunity to enter the Checkpoint Examinations to evaluate their progress against worldwide standards during grade 8.

Cambridge Grades 9-10

We see the Cambridge IGCSE programme as the best in the world at preparing for the academic challenges and examination focus that the IBDP (in grades 11-12) demands. Students follow a broad range of subjects, strengthening their core skills in Maths, English, and the Sciences as demanded at university entrance in the future. This is supplemented by studying options comprising of at least one foreign language, two subjects from the Social Sciences, two subjects from the Arts and Computer Studies. For further details, please see the curriculum pages. There is a strong focus on conceptual understanding and the application of knowledge. Cambridge is not a programme that emphasizes knowledge over essential academic skills. For further details, please see the curriculum pages.
