Sports Curriculum
The sports curriculum at GICLM is built around a number of aims for health and attaining personal excellence:
- Providing a strong education and learning for all students in PE that enhances their lives whilst at school, and establishes a foundation of understanding fitness for future health and wellbeing.
- Offering a wide range of opportunities and experiences in both team and individual sports.
- Supporting highly motivated young sportspeople with the pathway and preparation required to enter regional and national competitions outside school.
The curriculum offers a diverse sporting programme supported by exceptional facilities, especially the large indoor sports hall with filtered air, reducing concerns of prolonged outdoor exposure. Outdoor areas are utilised when appropriate.
The curriculum includes the following sports:
- Swimming (School swimming pool)
- Football (indoors and outdoors on large open turf areas)
- Basketball (Sports hall)
- Gymnastics (Specialist gym with cushioned flooring)
- Badminton (Sports hall)
- Pickleball (Sports hall)
- Volleyball (Sports hall)
- Athletics (indoors and outdoors on track and turf)
- Cricket (nets and turf, indoors and outdoors)
- Dance (tailored indoor dance studio)
- Fitness Gym (modern equipment, weights & machines)
- Chess club and coaching
All students follow a carefully tailored programme throughout each grade level. Competitions are arranged for all students to participate in for their House Team in all sports. Students attend specialist coaching and trials for participation in Teams that represent GICLM in Mumbai, Regional and National tournaments. A wide range of after school clubs provide further opportunities for both leisure and advanced coaching.
Badminton
Developing Focus, Agility & Inner Balance
At GICLM's, badminton is introduced with the same care and intention we bring to every learning experience. The court becomes a place where children learn to stay centred, alert and expressive through movement.
When students step in, they feel the quiet concentration of the space, the steady rhythm of rallies and the satisfaction that comes from purposeful practice. Our programme begins with fundamentals that shape confidence.
Educators guide students through footwork patterns, balance drills and body awareness exercises. These early routines help them develop coordination before the technique deepens.

Friendly matches and interschool tournaments offer students a safe way to test resilience. They learn sportsmanship, steady breathing during intense points and patience through long rallies.
Over time, badminton at Garodia becomes a grounding practice that shapes agility, confidence and emotional maturity. Each child leaves the court a little more self-aware, disciplined and ready to grow.

Hosting Inter-School Sporting Events
We are proud not only to participate but also to lead. GICLM regularly hosts inter-school tournaments and friendly leagues, providing young athletes across schools a professional and inclusive space to compete. Our modern sports facilities, trained coaches, logistics support teams, and student volunteers come together to create memorable experiences for participants and spectators alike.

Swimming
Building Confidence, Strength & Water Awareness
Swimming at GICLM's begins with calm, structured introductions that help children feel at ease. Our instructors stay attentive to each learner’s pace, supporting them as they discover buoyancy, breath control and the gentle rhythm of the water.
We focus on comfort before technique, ensuring every student builds a safe and trusting relationship with the pool. As confidence grows, students move into more detailed skill-building suited to their readiness and ability.
What Students Learn in Our Pool
Training includes:
- Freestyle breathing and long, relaxed strokes
- Backstroke balance and consistent head alignment
- Breaststroke timing with smooth, controlled movement
- Early butterfly fundamentals introduced gradually
- Safe entries, streamlined kicks, turns and water safety skills
Sessions are structured but warm. Children learn to glide, stretch, coordinate and breathe with intention.
How Swimming Enriches Their Growth
With time, the pool transforms into a space for discipline and perseverance. Students experience endurance laps, partner drills and small team relays that build unity.
Coaches celebrate steady progress rather than speed alone. After each session, students step out with a sense of accomplishment and a calmer, stronger presence.
